Forget the Snow! Let's Hit the Beach!

Ohhhh what I wouldn't give to be sitting on soft sand, wrapped in the warmth of the sun's rays! I'm dreaming of a day at the beach and the warmer days to come. Signing off...currently wrapped in 3 blankets, sipping a hot cup of sleepy-time tea! Sweet dreams!

Weekend Re-cap

What a great weekend. My dear friend Teri invited a bunch of friends (Allie, Amanda, Jodi, Jillian, Lindsay and I) over for a day of brunching and crafting. Teri whipped up some amazing German pancakes and Jodi brought the mimosa's...the spread was dee-lish! Most spent the afternoon working on fun crafting projects...mainly baby shower gifts. I, however, spent the afternoon introducing some friends to the art of sewing. I had a great time with some great company.

Allie's goal for the day was to revisit every Martha Stewart Magazine and plan for her new craft room

First Week of the New Year

First week down for the New Year! I'm pleased to say I haven't skipped a day of flossing and the gums are looking good. I've managed to squeak in a creative project

and I sported a muted toned lipstick with liner yesterday

Lots of love has been shared this week as my mom has just discovered the adventures of email and we've had some cherished correspondence. 2011 training has kicked off with a bang including some solid runs, stairs and...oh yes...the re-introduction to the erg. Brutal! A few new veggie recipes have been added to next weeks menu and as soon as I cap off this blog I'm about to start my 2nd book for the month. All in all, I would have to say the first week of the year was a pretty solid start!

I Heart...

Maybe it's my Paris envy or maybe just my love for cute dolls, but doesn't this "I Love Paris Doll" by Mikodesign melt your heart?

Craft and Create

Wow, what a day! Nothing beats a pounding headache, a bout of insomnia, and a nagging knee. Hopefully you can sense the sarcasm! But don't feel bad for me, if anyone deserves a groan it's my lovely co-workers who have to listen to me complain all day! Oh god that must be awful. So sorry guys. But, I didn't start a blog so I can whine about things, so let's move on to more positive things. CRAFT AND CREATE! For Christmas I received a new sewing machine...I named her Lovely Bee. What better way to christen my new machine than to sew a unique sewing machine cover.

The fabric is vintage from an antique shop I ventured to when Erik and I took our trip to the Oregon Coast. I love the print; it matches the vintage wild-rose postcard collection I've got displayed in my craft studio.  Wild roses always remind me of my grandma, she always had a beautiful scent of rose.  I used my favorite ribbon in the world, it's french but I purchase it through my friend Amber's awesome store The Ribbon Jar

I designed the pattern my self and mostly used plain thick canvas. I added side pockets to stash in-progress patterns and instructions. A bright beginning to many sewing projects together!

40 Below and Freezing

Okay, maybe it's not quite 40 below. But Yikes, it's freezing! And suddenly I'm craving the warmth of a soft, cuddly and bright in spirit scarf from the Scarf-Shop.  Mmmmm, Cozy.

Happy Birthday My Love

A quick post today because I have some important celebrating to do...it's Erik's 29th birthday today!  To ring in another great year Erik and I took a romantic, yet very manly trip to the Oregon Coast. We checked out the Astoria Maritime Museum, ate some clam chowder, and checked out the stormy seas. We had a great time. Happy birthday Erik, the last 29 years have been perfect, because I love the person you have become during that time.
