Crew Valentine's Day 2011

Nothing beats a crew gathering combined with red, pink, and purple sprinkles, hearts, candy, icing and Sciarrino's award winning heart shaped cookies...life is STU-PENDOUS! But this special gathering had two very important reasons to celebrate:

1. Crew-ladies annual Valentine's Day cookie decorating day
2. Tracy's baby shower.

Thanks to our hostess Sciarrino we had a day filled with laughing, some amazing announcements, and a serious sugar rush.

I won most inspired Valentine's Day outfit! I'm pretty sure it had something to do with my heart shaped necklace gifted to me by my BFF Kristin.  The prize...an awesome calendar note pad.

A perfect Valentine's Day celebration, full of love and friendships. For more pics click here.

Hit the Beach

If you can't go to the beach, bring the beach to you. I am loving all the beach inspired panoramic photographs I'm seeing in home decor magazines and I'm thinking this may be the perfect solution to our dinning room empty wall.  I wish you all a great weekend... I'll be dreaming of the beach!

I Heart... Stripes

One glimpse into my closet and you would know instantly that I have a thing for stripes. I naturally gravitate towards anything nautical. So when I discovered the crisp, clean shop Chance had a section dedicated to stripes I flipped. If you dabble in the sailor styling you must check them out.

Craft and Create I

I picked this puppy up for 15 bucks. I adored the curves and trim detailing but the fabric and wood stain were a bit too dated for my taste. Sooo... with a few coats of paint, some fun home dec. fabric and my upholstery gun I managed to craft a new stool for my vanity. FABULOUS!

Magnificent Specimens-Photography by Dave Mead

On Sunday Erik and I ventured over to North Mississippi Street to check out Land Gallery and take in the fabulously satirical "Magnificent Specimens" photography collection by Dave Mead. Debuting the world's best facial coifs, some of the beards in the photographs were incredible and the show couldn't have been more magnificent. And, since Erik has been working the bearded look himself, he really took a liking to the display.

This piece was Erik's absolute fav. He lost it, just lost it when he saw it.

Plushtache by Shannon Gerard

We were so inspired by the Magnificent Specimen exhibit we had to leave with goodies. Erik picked up a calendar showing Dave Mead's collection of world winning beards and 'staches and I picked up a plushtache pin! It was a great outing with a lot of Portland spirit.

Weekend Re-cap: San Francisco

Tada...here is the photo-collage of my zip of a trip to San Fran. I was spoiled with a stay at the Nob Hill Fairmont, which began with bumping into a couple of A-listers (along with their entourages) while checking in at the front desk. Though totally excited, I played it cool. Hell, I was in the swanky lobby of the Fairmont! Upon arriving in my room I discovered a bathroom stocked full of Miller Harris body products...saweeet!!!  In private, I have no pride, I swiped everything! This is the very reason I bring my own soap, so I can stash the good stuff in my purse!

While in the bay area, my mom suggested I buy a crab at the Fisherman's Wharf.  Great suggestion, and I followed through, but I failed her in my attempt at eating the whole crab. If you know my mom you would know she does not let a shred of crab go to waste.  She meticulously and methodically sucks those crustaceans dry. I however managed to spill mine all over my new black chinos. Bummer...but it was worth it. I marched all over the city, up the hills, through the markets, around Chinatown, and even through the most amazing museum, the Musee Mecanique for antique coin operated fair games, which was totally cool but also a bit eerie! All in all, it was a great trip, and yes, I did get a bit of work done!

Abroad

Well, I'm off again. This time I'm checking out the fine city of San Fransisco. I'm extremely fortunate that my job allows me to venture to some very cool cities. And as you know, I wouldn't go abroad without my trusty companion, the Eat.Shop travel guides. I made sure I packed my comfy shoes because I plan on doing A LOT of trekking. Wish you all a fun weekend.
